7/3/14
In the Esparza house los zancudos (mosquitos) feasted on my right leg during the night. Just my right leg, not the left; I don't know why. Anyways, I woke up to an awesome breakfast once again of little steak and tomato sandwiches. Then we were off to la piscina (pool) de San Lucas. Maeeeeee que chiva! (Dudeeeeee awesomee!) Seriously though this pool was crazy. Fue paraiso (it was paradise). It was a circular pool that wrapped around a little island with two bridges on both sides. The water was cold and refreshing on this very very hot day. I don't think I have ever sweat this much in my life and it was such a relief to jump in the water. After playing games with the girls (Alexa and Aleyra) I was even lucky enough to attend an aquazumba class! If you know what zumba is, then imagine how hard it would be in the water. Yea it was a workout but it was really fun (and free!)
After all of this I thought my skin was fine and wanted to try tanning for a little bit. Being an Oregonian I am not familiar with that thing called the sun and today I survived my first sunburn. Little did I know that my face and arms were just roasting away until much later. Like I said earlier, I don't think I have ever sweat this much in my entire life.
After the pool venture, we walked along the beach (it was a very hot, tiring, and sweaty walk) to a little outdoor restaurant and I got to try a Churchill (pronounced like churchee).

(FYI this is not my picture. I was too busy eating my Churchill to take a picture of it)
NOMMMMMMMMM. Ice cream, Sno-cone, leche condensado (a really sweet form of milk), leche pinito (a sort of powdery milk), and flavoring really hit the spot. Oh man that leche condensado is like honey it is so good.
After arriving back "home" I took my first shower here in Costa Rica. That's right I have not showered for the past 3 days (surprisingly I didn't smell that bad), but the shower that I did take tonight was glorious. It wasn't hot but it was warm and that's good enough for me.
Tomorrow we head towards the Caribbean coast! Hasta luego!
Kels, I hope my comments are getting posted to you. Let me know!
