I spent the morning swimming in la piscina the pool with the chicas (Aleyra y Alexa). It was so cool and refreshing on a very hot morning. We then took a stroll along the beach that was right next to our cabinas. This beach is not very good for swimming or laying in the sand, but it is good for finding cool shells, rocks, etc. There isn't much sand at all, but rather many small rocks make up the shore. After spending the morning at the Howler Monkey Hotel in Cabuya we hopped in the car and continued our journey along the Nicoya Peninsula, passing through Montezuma and Santa Teresa (small beach towns where tourism and ATV's rule).
After another very bumpy and sometimes scary ride we arrived at Punta Islita. We went to visit some extended family and friends in their restaurant with a view overlooking the beach.

After soaking in the gorgeous view we then went down the steep gravel hill to go play on the beach! Playa Punta Islita has been my favorite beach so far. The sand is soft and I got to go into the warm sea and play in the waves.
After soaking in the ocean and looking at the grand houses above on the hill, we were lucky enough to actually go visit two of those houses! One of the Quiros' friends is the caretaker of two VERY nice houses and we were all invited to go swim in the pools.
That's one heck of a pool.
So, we spent the night swimming in awesome pools and then got to sleep in one of the many rooms in the house (with air conditioning!)
