Driving up the very steep, rocky, windy road to Volcan Barva in Braulio Carrillo National Park, the buildings in the San Jose Metro area became smaller and smaller as the mountains came more into focus. We arrived at the entrance to the park and I realized that wearing flip flops may not have been the best choice. Unfortunately nobody told me that we were going to be hiking in one of the rainiest, muddiest, coldest places in Costa Rica! But oh well, I survived. Here are some pictures of the laguna in the volcan!

Yes I edited these, but the fog and the rain are real!

Did you end up with bare feet? I hiked in tennis shoes and had to take them off because they kept getting stuck. I love your adventure! Can't wait to see all the pictures.
